In Citadels, players take on new roles each round to represent characters they hire in order to help them acquire gold and erect buildings. The game ends at the close of a round in which a player erects his/her eighth building. Players then tally their points, and the player with the highest score wins.
In the U.S. wild west, the eternal battle between the law and the outlaws keeps heating up. Suddenly, a rain of arrows darken the sky: It’s an Indian attack! Farm fresh produce is in higher demand than ever! There’s just one problem. Well, several. Higher demand means more yay-hoos trying their hand at the soiled science. In 6 nimmt!, a.k.a. Category 5 and many other names, you want to score as few points as possible. To play the game, you shuffle the 104 number cards, lay out four cards face-up to start the four rows, then deal ten cards to each player. Each turn, players simultaneously choose and reveal a card from their hand, then add the cards to the rows, with cards being placed in ascending order based on their number; specifically, each card is placed in the row that ends with the highest number that’s below the card’s number. When the sixth card is placed in a row, the owner of that card claims the other five cards and the sixth card becomes the first card in a new row.
Act Too, a.k.a. Mimtoo, is a simple game of miming and gestures that is played in teams. One player on the active team draws both a character card and an action card, then silently acts out the card combination – for example, an electrician dancing the polka. This player’s teammates have one minute to guess the answer, collecting a card if they do so. The team that collects the most cards wins!
